Steve, I’m sorry, but I feel you have a disconnect for how devastating this economy is to many people, even doctors.
Taking pride in one’s work is wonderful, but if it doesn’t pay the bills, the stress becomes the focus, and as agents, we cannot, and should not ever discount that fact.
To use the trite phrase “now more than ever” it is our jobs as real estate professionals to be professional, as well as to be aware and understanding of what our clients are feeling. To suggest that the good feelings of doing a job well is enough is misdirected. Perhaps it is better to have simply said “yes, I understand. Things are very, very difficult right now.”
Steve,
I have a first hand knowledge with one of my dear Tuesday’s Sister Pat Sherman with her awful accident and her current situation. I agree NAR cannot give us the passion to serve others however my thought in order to serve other we first have to have before we can give and having starting at home take care one of our own before we can extend forward to our clients.
How can we give something we don’t have?
